§ Expansion

Five ways to keep growing.

Your ShroomBag is a starter, not a finish line. The block stays alive after your first harvest. Pick a path and one $30 kit can keep feeding you for months, sometimes years.

01
Easiest

Get a Second Flush

Clean the block, soak it in cold water for 12 to 24 hours, drain, and mist from the same cut. A full second wave in 2 to 3 weeks.

02
Months more

Expand Into a Bucket

Drill a 5 gallon bucket, layer spent block with pasteurized straw, plug the holes with poly-fil, wait 2 to 3 weeks. Works for oysters and Lion's Mane.

03
Set it and forget it

The Outdoor Ground Bed

Cardboard, straw, spent block, more straw. Shady spot, keep it damp. Oysters only, comes back season after season.

Inoculate Logs

Drill fresh hardwood, pack the holes with colonized substrate, seal with wax. Best outdoor method for Lion's Mane, and mushrooms for literal years.

Nothing wasted

Feed Your Garden, Soil, and Animals

If you do not want to expand, the spent block is still a valuable soil amendment, compost feed, or chicken treat.

More kits, more starter blocks, more material to expand. Stack a few and you have a year of mushrooms running in parallel.
